WP Article on Neuroscience Research and K-12 Learning at St. Andrews Episcopal, Potomac

Those of you who have been following my blog remember posts on The Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Academy in Potomac. MD.  They have created a partnership with the Neuro-Education Initiative at Johns Hopkins and have really committed to integrating the latest research on how the brain works into their curriculum.  As Director of the CTTL Glenn Whitman told me when I visited, “If you are not taking advantage of this incredible research, it is hard to say you are a 21st Century school.”

The Washington Post has just done a nice article on the CTTL, and here is the link.  It is a nice, quick summary you might want to pass along; you can get more information by contacting Glenn directly at St. Andrews or via his Twitter handle @gwitmancttl.  The Center not only coordinates curriculum development for St. Andrews; they also hold professional development opportunities for teachers from other public and private schools, so you might want to check out their PD offerings in the area of neuroscience and curriculum development.
